Blue Tits are clearly smaller than Great Tits. They have sky blue caps and lack the broad medial black stripe that runs lengthwise along Great Tits’ underparts. Their faces are mainly white with a narrow blackish eye stripe that turns dark bluish behind their eyes, eventually becoming wider on the back of the neck and meeting another dark blue stripe that runs round their necks towards a small dark bib on the chin. Their underparts are yellow, and their backs are greenish. Their wings and tail are bright blue. Like the Great Tit, they have a single white lateral stripe on each wing. Blue Tits’ legs are dark greyish blue, their irises are dark brown, and their beaks are small and black.
