Species from Flax Family, Linaceae: 1
Flax Family, Linaceae
In Finland the Flax family is represented by only 2 species, both of which belong to the same genus. It is not a particularly species-rich family in a global context either with 16 genera and less than 200 species of dwarf shrubs, bushes, small trees and of course herb-stemmed flowering plants. The genus with the most species is Linum, to which the flax plants that grow in Finland (of which one is an escape from cultivation) belong.
